There are only two things that the enemy needs to destroy, faith and love. Without these the people of God become powerless and incapable of fulfilling their purpose. They were all called to live out Christ Jesus and His sacrifice.

We as the sons and daughters of the living God need faith and love more than anything else and I therefore pray like Paul “… that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God“.
Ephesians 3:17-19 ESV

The importance of prayer and God’s word.

It is so sad to see and hear about all the things happening around us. It is also important to talk about it and to share our grieves and fears. This is good, but we have to pray about it and pray for those who are suffering. We need to talk and share our lives with God and build our relationship with Him and encourage those around us.

To be able to do this correctly we need to know God’s word as it is the foundation of life. We also need to remember that prayer is more important than discussions and talks.

And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 1:3-11 ESV

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Philippians 4:4-9 ESV

For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.
Ephesians 1:15-21 ESV

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:9-14 ESV

Turn your busyness into faithfulness.

The subtle plan of the enemy is busyness. Being occupied with that which is keeping you from the real, true and purposeful activities.

We need to focus on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). He knows what we are and what we need and will therefore be able to lead us to success. With our eyes on Him we will turn our busyness into faithfulness.

Fear and rejection

Fear and rejection have become the norm of society and the tools of the fear creators. The more it grows the greater the panic becomes, robbing your logical thinking. Selfishness is the result of it all based on the false belief of survival of the fittest. This will then become the power ruling the earth…

There is only one way to overcome fear, rejection, panic and confusion. It is called love. Without God there is no true love, for He is called Love. It is for this reason that Jesus have said that living a life of love is the fulfilment of the law. Love God with all your being and your neighbours as yourself.

Who Are You?

Guilt ridden, full of fear, anxiety, hatred and selfish ambition. Death and destruction will become overwhelming in every single thing you think, do and desire. It is time to let go of all of these things and focus on God and His plan for your life.

Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.

“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

(Isaiah 1:16-20)

It has become too easy to focus only on revenge and survival and forgetting your calling. Our call as sons and daughters of the Living God has always been to do good, live out justice, to love and respect people and to walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8).

With this message I want to remind you who you are and what is and should be important…

Hoop in ‘n hopelose wêreld…

(Johannes 9: 5)

Keith Getty en ander het die lied “Christ Our Hope in Life and Death” geskryf. In vers een vra hul: “What is our hope in life and death?” en dan antwoord hul: “Christ alone, Christ alone.” Adrienne Camp het die lied “In Christ Alone” gskryf. In die eerste reël vind ons ‘n groot waarheid: “In Christ alone my hope is found”

Freedom from the law

Paul, for example said that the believer is no more under the law, but under grace. The believer is thus walking above the law, following it as a path, being guided by the Spirit. Only when he breaks the law will he be under the law. The believer will also, through grace and forgiveness, be enabled to break free from the bondage of the law and will then be lifted above the law again.

The believer is thus not lawless, but following the law of the Spirit, which is superior to the law as the Spirit enables the believer to obey God’s law and teachings (Ezekiel 36:25-29).
