Paul, for example said that the believer is no more under the law, but under grace. The believer is thus walking above the law, following it as a path, being guided by the Spirit. Only when he breaks the law will he be under the law. The believer will also, through grace and forgiveness, be enabled to break free from the bondage of the law and will then be lifted above the law again.
The believer is thus not lawless, but following the law of the Spirit, which is superior to the law as the Spirit enables the believer to obey God’s law and teachings (Ezekiel 36:25-29).
