Hy maak baie skelm planne teen julle (Efesiërs 6:11 ABA).

Dink jy jy is suksesvol?

INVITATION TO COME

Destruction and hatred follows:
Heartbreak. Fear. Regret. Failure. Disappointment. Insecurity. Shame. Despair.

With these overwhelming emotions boiling inside of us, we cannot receive God’s love nor love the people around us.

Therefor God invites us:

come, my people, enter your quiet places of prayer, And shut your doors behind you; Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, Until the resentment caused by all these bad emotions is past.

(Isaiah 31:4).

I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,” declares the LORD, “because you are called an outcast, for whom no one cares.

(Jeremiah 30:17).

I pray that we all remember to enter into our prayer places just for a moment to receive what we need in order to continue living a life of love no matter where we are! AMEN

Shake Off Laodicean Slumber!

The great sin of these end-time days is Laodicean lukewarmness, being neither hot nor cold (Rev. 3:14-15). Sinful and godless as the world is, the real battle of today is not the battle of the world, but the battle of the church.

Laodiceanism is spiritual paralysis. It is a surrender of first love, cooling from fervency to lukewarmness; profession and no possession, the subtlest sin of hell. Laodiceanism is mediocre service, indifferent praying, contentment in spiritual barrenness, complacency in idleness. It is grudging giving, reluctant sacrificing, no martyr or witnessing spirit. Laodiceanism is burdenless, passionless, spiritless – a deceived people doomed to judgment instead of rewards.

All of this evil fruit stems from Laodiceanism. Like all the devil’s illusions, it is a great deception, and herein lies its greatest peril. It does not destroy orthodoxy or respectability. The victim knows not his true state. He is content to remain as he is. He feels no need. He prides himself on his religion, not knowing that in his Lord’s sight, he is wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked. He is religious. But it is a religion our Lord hates and will spue out of His mouth.

Is There a Remedy?

Yes, there is a remedy. Jesus reveals it in Revelation 3:18. He counsels, “Buy of Me gold tried in the fire.” Gold is always a symbol of genuineness. If they will accept His loving rebuke and chastening, there is hope. He stands at the door and knocks. Notice, He is not within. If any will hear (obey) His voice, He will come in and sup with him, fellowship with him (Rev. 3:20).

Hear His counsel to the Laodicean church. Be zealous; abandon lukewarmness. Repent. Return to your first love. Get back to Pentecostal fervency, purity and power. Humble yourself in true penitence.

Many Bible scholars agree that Christendom is now in the Laodicean stage of the church. Therefore, this is Christ’s latest, timely message to us. Will we heed?

Only a God-sent revival stands between us and extinction. Storm clouds are rising fast on the horizon of time!

Is this a time to slumber, to be at ease in Zion, to be passionless, burdenless, prayerless, faithless, savourless? Have we lost our throne rights of holy intercession? Must we capitulate to the enemy, lay down our weapons and cease praying in faith that God will answer as He answered Savonarola, Knox and others?

What promises of God are obsolete? Must we limit God? Must we limit our faith? Does the law of faith and prayer still operate? Can believers still do the works of Jesus? Does the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent Holy Spirit energize and empower Spirit-filled disciples today?

Is it not time enough for the saints to cease from warfare when the Holy Ghost snatches the Bride away? Did not Jesus command, “Occupy till I come”? (Luke 19:13). What would happen if the church would leave feasting and go to fasting, leave the supper room and retreat to the upper room? Cease from doubt and fears and go to praying and believing? Is not the problem of this age the problem of a prayerless, faithless church? If the church obeyed Jesus, would the gates of hell prevail? Will we talk and do nothing?

Do We Want a Revival Before Jesus Returns?

What price is too great? What sacrifice too much? Would God disappoint a burdened, soul-agonizing church on its knees? What would happen if the church would be swept with a great passion for souls and put travail, tears and soul sweat into its prayers?

Can you not discern that humanity hovers over the vortex of revolution, anarchy and chaos? Can we afford to slumber while the world passes through its greatest crisis? Will it not quickly be too late to do anything? Dare we delay in Laodicean apathy? If we fail to pray, is there any other way out?

What is the source, the cause of the pessimism that robs us of faith, hope and courage to pray through for a genuine Holy Ghost revival? Is it of God or Satan? Should we yield to it? Whence the source of this fatalistic attitude and conception in our thinking that, like a poison virus, paralyzes the church to Laodicean lukewarmness and immobility and unbelief?

“When the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8). Pray, Christian, pray! “Lord, keep me on the firing line!”

Christ-centredness

It is so true that many Christians believe their lives to be Christ-centred when they only read the Bible and attend church regularly. Christ centeredness should be a lifestyle that centres around Christ, we should ultimately be like, and act like Christ.

I also believe that in order to be like Him we need to know Him. Knowing Christ is sometimes an effort but setting it as the goal of our lives will help us to become more Christ-centred. We must therefore be focused on building a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues (Mark 16:).

And behold, some men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in and lay him before Jesus, but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus. And when he saw their faith, he said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” When Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them, “Why do you question in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”–he said to the man who was paralyzed–“I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home.” And immediately he rose up before them and picked up what he had been lying on and went home, glorifying God
(Luke 5:18-25).

Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld (John 20:21-23).

And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen” (Matthew 21:21).

Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him (Mark 11:23).

By remaining a community of pray and fellowship, relying on one another and God will ensure a Christ-centred community.

I would like to ad though that “love” is a very important factor that some may neglect. Rob Bell said that how you love others is how you love God (2004). Jesus also said that we will be known as his disciples because of our love for one another (John 13:35, ESV). Jesus had a lot to say about “love” and the importance there of as seen in John 13:34-35, John 14:15-31, John 15:9-19 to mention only a few in the gospel of John.

Therefore Christ-centredness must be based on love for Jesus Christ’s words and works is based on love.

I totally believe that the leaders of the church needs to cultivate a culture of Christ-centredness. This will then permeate the congregation to be also Christ-centred. I am reminded of Psalm 133:

A Song of Ascents. Of David. Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life forevermore (Psalms 133:1-3).

I believe that this blessing always runs down from the head, the leaders of the church, and down the beard and robe, towards everyone they lead. So also will the culture of Christ-centredness flow down towards everyone accepting their leadership. This is done through the teaching and preaching of the words and works of Jesus Christ.

Yes, church is “only” spiritual in nature… our strugggle is to connect with our humanity which is spirit, soul and body. It is then that we forget what church truly is and we shape it with so many laws that we get lost within it all.

We must allow the works and words of Jesus to teach us to be like Him; But first we must desire and ask Him to teach us through the Holy Spirit.

Learning to Buck the System

I get so frustrated when I see men think or act like sheep. Blindly & aimlessly following the norms of society or giving in to the pressure of society to think or behave in a certain way. When we go against the current of popular beliefs or established thought & doctrine all the sheep get nervous & unsettled & make us want to conform to the philosophy & traditions that imprisons them.

The system is able to suppress, oppress, & manipulate countless people because of their fear, shame, & guilt. But unless you learn how to buck the system you’ll never know the freedom of thinking or acting for yourself. Till you stop thinking or acting like a sheep the wolves will just wolf you down.

To buck the system is to do something different than what is expected; to resist authority or to fight against the usual way of doing something. People blindly follow the system or do what they are told to do without ever thinking for themselves. Just because you grew up being told this is how we do things around here does not mean that ought to do them. We need more free thinking people in the world to question the system & challenge the status quo.

Rules are many times just traditions handed down by men to control & manipulate the behaviour of others. I am not preaching anarchy here since there are obvious things we should never do…especially when they will mean pain or suffering to others. ALL THAT I’M SAYING IS THAT WHEN YOU SWIM WITH THE SHARKS YOU BETTER NOT THINK OR ACT LIKE A FISH…WHEN YOU ARE RUNNING WITH THE WOLVES YOU BETTER NOT THINK OR ACT LIKE A SHEEP!

Some of the most successful individuals in business, arts, or science were those who had learnt to buck the system & think & do for themselves. Just think how mankind could’ve suffered if freethinkers like Galileo had given in to the pressure of the Church to give up on his scientific discoveries. The world would have been in the dark ages for still a couple of more centuries.

I am not a wolf or a shark & I am neither a fish nor a sheep. But I have learned to buck the system & by Jove I will not relent or give in so that I can conform & make my sheep buddies less nervous. I am a dissident, a maverick, a non-conformist; not because I wanted it so but only because my eyes had opened up. Like Neo from the Matrix there came a day where I was unplugged & had suffered the disillusionment of that disconnection; that very same disillusionment had become the greatest moment of my development & life.

Many times I’m frowned upon, ridiculed or rejected because I buck the system. But I take solace with the fact that like so many great men & women before me I have learned to think for myself & refuse to be conformed to the patterns of this world. The religious would have you believe that to be such a man or woman is to risk the eternal damnation of your soul. Yet I find it fascinating that both Jesus & the apostle Paul went against the current of popular belief & established thought & doctrine of their time. For me they serve as a great inspiration to be a freethinking non-conformist just like them.
