God is compassionate and giving. He gave man authority to have dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:28) and gave them freedom of choice (Genesis 1:29). He also enjoyed fellowship with man (Genesis 3:8). The only problem was that man allowed sin to come between them and God (Genesis 3:1-24). Because God cannot be one with sin, man was separated from God. God was also the connection that made man one, therefore this separation between man and God caused separation between man and man.
Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your sins have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear (Isaiah 59:1-2).
Man ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil from which God commanded them not to eat (Genesis 3:1-24), which lead to what is known as “the great fall”. When they sinned they experienced spiritual separation from God, which resulted in a change in the nature of human beings, they became inherently sinful, and brought God’s judgement on man and nature (Genesis 3:16-19). This disobedience caused man’s resemblance and representation of God to be corrupted. Because of Sin, God spoke, and cursed the earth which changed and made it difficult for man to exist in it. Thus mankind became corrupt and selfish, but still have the ability to do good works. Sin is separation from God (Genesis 3:23-24) and leads to death “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23)
God’s desire is for you to have Life – abundantly and eternal, but sin is still a problem.
God made a better way and gave Jesus Christ as Saviour to bridge the separation man experiences.
He died in our place, taking our sins on Him. God shows his love for us in that Christ died for us when we were still sinners. (Rom 5:8)
He rose from the dead And showed Himself to many while speaking of the things of the Kingdom of God. (Acts 1:3)
God still is compassionate and giving, inviting you to accept His kind gifts.
AMEN
